Obituary of Anna Mae Slightom

Anna Mae Slightom 90, of Auburn, IL, formerly of Girard and Carlinville , passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 20, 2011. Anna Mae was born in Dorchester, IL, February 25, 1921, the daughter of Jacob and Anna Mae Favre. Anna Mae was married in Union City, TN on July 21, 1967 to William C. Slightom. He passed away May 4, 1997. She was a seamstress at Carlinville Glove Factory, as well as, worked in Virden. Anna Mae was also a farm wife and loved gardening, canning, cooking and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Anna Mae is survived by 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; two brothers, William Favre (Pauline) of Staunton and Jacob Favre (Laura) of Geneseo, IL; brother-in-law, David Jones of Virden; sister-in-law Catherine Favre of Litchfield, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and son Gary Favre. Funeral Information Visitation will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 10:30 to noon at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville with funeral services conducted by Rev. John Huxtable at the funeral home immediately following visitation. Burial will be held at Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery in Carlinville.
