George D. "Bing" Ribble



73, of Hettick, died of natural causes Monday afternoon, February 1, 2010 at his residence.


He was born Thursday, July 23, 1936 in Carlinville, Illinois, the Son of Jonas and Thelma L. (Angelo) Ribble. He married Melba (Dunn)in Carlinville, Illinois on June 11, 1955 and would have been married for 55 years this spring.


Bing was a retired grain and livestock farmer in the Hettick area.

He still tended to his named "Cow Puppies on the Ribble farm.

When he wasn't busy "playing in the dirt" Bing enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends, and never met a stranger.

He ran Ribble Farm Supply for 10 years and kept busy with a "seed corn business" in the winters.

Bing was a member of the Gilead Baptist Church where he was passionate about the on-going work on the church building project.

In his younger years he enjoyed flying and served as president of the Zelmer Memorial Air Park.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, February 4 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL.

Burial will be next to his parents in Gilead Cemetery in Hettick, IL.

Funeral services will 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 5, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Harding officiating. Donations Information
