Obituary of Richard E. Price

Dick Price 77, of Carlinville, IL passed away Saturday morning, October 19, 2013, at his residence. Dick was born December 13, 1935, in Carlinville, IL, a son of Franklin "Bud" and Dorothy (Rathke) Price. Dick graduated from Gillespie High School with the class of 1953. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force serving as an air-medic in the Korean War. After discharge from the service, Dick attended the Gradwohl School of Laboratory Technique and graduated two years later. In 1960, he married Rose Marie Lonzerotti at the Ss Simon & Jude Catholic Church in Gillespie and they would have been married 53 years on the 29th of October. Dick was employed at the Carlinville Area Hospital for 36 years, serving as Lab Director and retiring in 1995 as Director of Clinical Services. He was a member of Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville, was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council #663 where he was a 3rd Degree. Dick loved the outdoors and always looked forward to the annual fishing trip to the cabin with his sons, grandson and friends. He liked hunting deer, ducks and geese. Dick enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing, cooking out and spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Rose Marie Price of Carlinville, IL, son, Jeff (Susan) Price of Shiloh, IL, son, Neil (Cheryl) Price of Carlinville, IL, daughter, Jennifer (David) Eghigian of O'Fallon, IL, son, Derek (Lesley) Price of Woodstock, GA, 7 Grandchildren, Erik & Kellen Price, Connor Eghigian, Evan Price, Madison Eghigian, Marin & Lauren Price, sister, Patricia (Ron) Frew of Gillespie, IL, brother, Donald (Dianne) Price of Alhambra, IL, 3 nieces and 3 nephews. Funeral Information Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville. Prayer service will be held at 7:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 23, 2013, Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Angel Sierra celebrant.
