Marvin W. Pierson
age, 57 passed away Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 9:10 A.M. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. He was born in Springfield, IL on July 6, 1951 to Harold W. Pierson and Pearl Talkington Pierson.
He attended Blackburn College in Carlinville and graduated from Girard High School in 1969. He married Barbara Langheim on December 28, 1977 in Texas.
Marvin was a rural mail carrier for Girard, Sherman and Carlinville retiring in 2003. Recently he had worked for Right of Way Consulting based in Valparaiso, IN.
He enjoyed scuba diving, fishing, reading, woodworking, and playing cards. Marvin was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears.
Marvin was active in the Girard community. He was a member of the Girard Fire & Rescue Squad for 27 years, Rescue Captain, Macoupin County Coroner's Office, Girard School Board, Girard City Council, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, St. Patrick's Finance Committee and Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, father Harold Pierson, Grandfather Oren Pierson, Daughter, Vanessa Reinhart, husband Thomas, Son Kristian Eldridge, wife Kimmy, Son Cody Pierson all of Girard, IL. His grandchildren, which he adored, Claire, Mary Kate and Joe Reinhart, Jacob Pierson, Rawley and Ella Eldridge.
Also surviving are his sister Barb Hardin, husband Doug, brothers Randy Pierson, wife Sharon, Marty Pierson all of Girard and Brad Pierson, wife Leslie of Newark, TX. and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information
Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Girard, IL.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 31, 2009 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home. A prayer service will begin at 3:30 P.M. Donations Information
