Obituary of Clara May Petri

Clara May Petri 72, of Carlinville, passed away on Sunday morning, February 5, 2012 at the Carlinville Area Hospital. She was born on August 12, 1939 to Elmer and Lena (Roth) Quirin at Prairie DuLong Twp., in St. Clair County, Illinois. Clara was a homemaker. On March 9, 1957, she married Charles V. Petri in Hernando, Mississippi. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and Women of the Moose - Carlinville. Clara May was an avid Elvis fan and collector. She loved camping and traveling with her family. She enjoyed following her children and grandchildren throughout their sports years. She was known to say a prayer for everyone. Clara May is survived by her loving spouse of 54 years, Charles, son - Keith Petri, wife Gail of Carlinville; daughter - Karla White, husband David of Granite City, Illinois; daughter-in-law - Sherry Petri of Gillespie, Illinois; 3 Grandchildren - Nichole, Jacob, and Kaci Petri; brother - Loraine Quirin, wife Ruth Ann of Freeburg, Illinois; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son; Kevin C. Petri on April 30, 2006, and 2 brothers; Clarence and Henry Quirin. Funeral Information Visitation will be held at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from 4 - 7:00 pm. Private burial will take place in the St. John The Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Smithton, Illinois at a later date.
