Obituary of Eula A. Ornellas

Eula A. "Nana" Ornellas 94, of Chesterfield, died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Heritage Manor in Carlinville. She was born Friday, June 9, 1916 in Reeder, Illinois, the Daughter of Joseph and Myrtle ( Shuttleworth) Alfrey. She married William McCawley and they later divorced. In 1948 she married Kenneth Ornellas in Cottage Hills, IL and he passed away May 4, 1990. Eula was Postmaster in Chesterfield for 33 years and retired in 1980 . She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Chesterfield as well as the Anglican Society, the Macoupin County Historical Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Retired Postmasters Association. She loved to travel and took great pride in her job as a postmaster. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, Sisters, Ethel Killam and Virginia Joiner, Daughter Rita Kay McCawley, Grandson Rick Goodman, and Great Grandson Luke Boente Funeral Information Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 15 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Carlinville with Rev. John Bettmann officiating. Burial will be in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery in Carlinville, IL with pallbearers; Dennis Bowman, John Lounsbury, Tom Czuprynski, Ron Goodman, Joe Goodman, Darren Behme, Greg Boente and Josh Finchum.
