Obituary of Fae McWard

Fae Marsh McWard 101, of Palmyra, passed away Thursday evening, October 25, 2012 at Heritage Manor in Carlinville. Fae was born on February 25, 1911 to Elza John and Jane (Knisley) Marsh in Mt. Auburn, IL. Fae was a 1928 graduate of Niantic High School. She married Myron Brown McWard on July 17, 1936 in Covington, IN and he preceded her in death on August 4, 1977. Fae worked as a nanny in Chicago until she saved enough money to be able to go to nursing school. She then attended and graduated from St. Luke's school of Nursing in St. Louis, MO. Fae worked as a Registered Nurse for Carlinville Area Hospital, retiring in 1979. She also worked at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, Boyd Hospital in Carrollton, as well as St. Vincent Hospital in Taylorville. She was a housewife, loving to bake, cook and sew. Fae was also a member of Berea Christian Church in Mt. Auburn. Fae is survived by her 2 daughters, Elaine Sanders of Carlinville and Annebelle Rees (Walter) of Hayward, WS; 2 sons, William E. McWard of Lake Charles, LA and David M. McWard of Palmyra; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter and son-in-law Jow Huyear of Carlinville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron; parents; daughter, Diane Huyear; brother, Wayne Marsh and a sister, Fern Swarms. Funeral Information Visitation will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Richison officiating. Burial will follow in Hettick Cemetery.
