Betty F. Barnard
age 84, of Girard, IL passed away, Friday, December 5, 2008 at the Pleasant Hill Village in Girard. Betty was born July 27, 1924 in West Frankfort, IL. She is the daughter of Harper and Opal (Simmons) Weaver.
On June 1, 1946 in West Frankfort, IL, Betty married Thomas M. Barnard Jr. and he survives. While living in West Frankfort, Betty was a secretary for the West Frankfort School Superintendent. Betty kept books for Shane Funeral Home, now Davis-Anderson, Girard Texaco, Girard Water Department, and Acme Motors. She retired in 1987.
Surviving family members are, husband Thomas M. Barnard, Jr.
Daughter: Cathy Guidish (George) of Palmyra, IL
Sons: Mike Barnard (Sandy) of Girard, IL and James M. Barnard of Girard, IL
Seven Grandchildren and ten Great Grandchildren Sisters: Mary Jo McFarland and Sue Krantz (Ed) of West Frankfort, IL.
Betty is preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff Guidish.
Betty was a member of the Nilwood Baptist Church, Women's Missionary group and taught Girls Mission. She was a graduate of the West Frankfort High School class of 1942. Funeral Information
Family and friends may call at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard, IL from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M., Monday, December 8, 2008.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Howard Shockey officiating. Donations Information
