Irma Long of Chesterfield, passed away Thursday evening, July 9, 2009 at St. John's Hospice in Springfield, IL. She was born in Springfield, IL on Monday, December 23, 1918 the Daughter of the late Harold and Gertrude (Bullard) Keele. She married Wilbur L. Long at her parents home in Chesterfield, Illinois in 1938 and he died April 1979. She resided in that residence her lifetime. Irma graduated from Chesterfield High School class of 1936. She was homemaker, farm wife and member of the First Methodist Church of Godfrey. Irma was known for her gardening, canning, collecting antiques and playing cards. She loved a good bowl of ice cream. Irma is survived by Daughter, Trudy K. Watson (Harold) of Springfield, IL, Granddaughters, Laura Bynum and Christina Olshefsky, Great Granddaughters, Alexandra, Alatea and Samantha. Funeral Information Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday, July 13 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. John Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Loomis Cemetery in Chesterfield, Illinois. Elner Ivers and Chris Powell will provide the music. Donations Information Memorials may be made to the American Breast Cancer Society or the American Stroke Foundation.
