J.R. Leach 63, of Chesterfield, died Tuesday morning, September 8, 2009 at Jerseyville Manor. He was born Thursday, February 14, 1946 in Carlinville, IL, the Son of the late Roy and Theda Irene( Steward) Leach. He married Donna Hammann on June 12, 1966 and later divorced in 1993. J.R.was a Lineman for GTE Phone Company in the Chesterfield-Jerseyville area and retired in 1998. He was a member of the National Federation of Hunting Dogs. J.R. was a past 4-H leader of the Horsemasters Club and loved to hunt and play cards. Carlinville High School graduated, class of 1964. He served in the AirForce while stationed in Thailand as a jet mechanic during Vietnam. Survivors: Companion, Janet VanMeter of Rockbridge, IL, Daughter, Missy Leach of Chesterfield, IL, Son, Matt Leach (Beth Anne) of Hettick, IL, Grandchildren, Lauren & Trevor Clardy and Ty Leach, Three Uncles. Funeral Information Visitation will be: 4:00 to 7:00P.M., Thursday, September 10 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL. Funeral Service will be 10:00A.M., Friday, September 11, 2009 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in rural Hettick. Donations Information Memorials may be made to the Carlinville Clay Busters or Blessing Hospice of Greene County.
