Obituary of Howard Eugene Kuester

Howard Eugene Kuester 82, of Carlinville died Monday, May 7, 2012, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. Gene was born June 2, 1929, in Carlinville, IL, a son of Ernest George and Opal Mae (Olston) Kuester. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Margaret E. House and Melba Williams and brother Ernest "Bud" Kuester. Gene received his Bachelor's Degree at Illinois State College in Jacksonville. Gene was in the Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1954 and served in the Pacific Fleet. After his time in the service, Gene worked as an Accountant for the State of Illinois, Dept of Transportation. Gene was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, as well as the Guy Baird American Legion Post #554 Funeral Information Burial will be in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Carlinville at a later date.
