Velma E. Koonce
88, of Litchfield, formerly of Carlinville, died Thursday, August 13, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
She was born Thursday, June 16, 1921 in Shipman, IL, the Daughter of the late Derbes and Ina (Hix) Springman.
Velma was LPN for several nursing homes,hospitals in the area and retired in 2004.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Jacksonville. Velma enjoyed her job as a LPN and loved being with people.
Family members are Son, Donald Randolph (Annabelle) of Jerseyville, IL, Daughter, Beverly Blumer of Valle de Angeles, Honduras, 7 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great Great Grandchildren, Sister, Nellie Archer (Allen) of Salina, Kansas, Brother, Vernon Springman of Savanna, TN, Several Nieces & Nephews. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 17 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville.
Graveside service will be at 10:15 A.M., Monday, August 17, 2009 at Prairie Lawn Cemetery. Rev Larry Mouser will officiate.
