Obituary of Betty Kessinger

Betty Kessinger 89, of Carlinville, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Friendship Home in Carlinville. She was born on July 15, 1923 to Herbert and Hulda (Young) Hammann in Carlinville. She was a graduate of Carlinville High School. Betty married Hayden B. Kessinger on April 28, 1946 in Carlinville. Betty was a homemaker and a partner with her husband, Hayden, with the family farming operation. She was active in various church activities, member of the Carlinville Area Hospital Auxiliary and the Home Bureau. Betty was devoted to her family. Betty is survived by 2 daughters - Carolyn Pickett (Jim) of Gillespie, Linda Kessinger of Carlinville; 2 grandsons - Matthew (Cori) and Michael Pickett; 2 great-grandsons - Caleb and Connor Pickett. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and three brothers. Funeral Information Visitation will be held Monday, June 24, 2013, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. A Private Funeral for the immediate family will be held on Tuesday, June 25th. Her grandson, Michael J. Pickett, M. Div., will officiate her funeral. Burial will be in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery in Carlinville.
