Obituary of Barbara Kelsey

Barbara Kelsey 83, of Carlinville, passed away Sunday morning, March 11, 2012 at Friendship Home in Carlinville, IL. She was born on May 31, 1928 to John C. West and Josephine (Rister) West Scott in Decatur, IL. Barbara worked in the Accounts Payable Department for Prairie Farms Dairy in Carlinville. On December 18, 1948 she married Helmar R. Kelsey and he passed away April 20, 2011. Barbara enjoyed reading, gardening, back yard bird watching and decorating for the holidays. Barb loved to entertain for her family and friends. Barbara is survived by her son William Todd Kelsey (Jane) of Plainview, IL; 2 daughters; Kristin Birkenkamp (Ray) of Mitchell, SD and Lorie Wiles (David) of Carlinville, IL, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sister; Mrs. Clifford (Dorothy) Jenkins a niece, nephew and several cousins. Funeral Information A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Per Barb's request her body was donated to science at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, MO.
