Robert "Bob" Kaufman 89, of Carlinville, passed away, Monday morning, July 11, 2011 at Carlinville Area Hospital. Bob was born March 5, 1922 in Carlinville, the son of Anthony and Catherine (Schwab) Kaufman. Bob married Marcella "Sally" (Eichen) Kaufman at St. Joseph Church in Carlinville on November 29, 1947. Bob served in the United States Army during WWII. He was the owner-operator of Kaufman Trucking in Carlinville. He was a member of Ss Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, Past Commander of the Guy Baird American Legion Post #554 in Carlinville 40 and 8, as well as, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Carlinville Elks Lodge #1412, the Macoupin County Fair Board for 51 years and raised registered Suffolk sheep his entire lifetime. Bob is survived by his daughter, Sharon K. Carty (Glen) of Carlinville; grandson, Chad Carty (Crystal) of Rockton, IL; granddaughter, Heather Hampton (Matthew) of Carlinville and great-granddaughter, Maycee Hampton at home. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sally Kaufman; and two brothers, Leonard and Edward Kaufman. Funeral Information Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 12, at Ss Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville, with prayer service at 7:00 P.M. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 13, at Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville with Rev. Angel Sierra Celebrant. Burial will follow at Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery in Carlinville with military rites provided by Guy Baird American Legion Post #544. Donations Information Memorials may be made to the Macoupin County Fair Association.
