Ella Mae Bailey
92, of Carlinville, formerly of Leetsdale, Pennsylvania passed away Saturday morning December 7, 2013 at Heritage Health Care in Carlinville.
She was born on May 27, 1921 to James and Esther (Shively) Jacobs in Glassport, Pennsylvania. She graduated from high school in Glassport. Ella Mae worked as a telephone operator until her marriage to Ernest L. Bailey on July 8, 1950. She enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, reading, and playing card games and games. She faithfully attended EUM Church in Mt. Carmel, Illinois and Carlinville United Methodist. In Pennsylvania she was an active member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.
Ella Mae is survived by 2 daughters - Cynthia Esther Bailey of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Gretchen B. Taylor (husband Rev. Bob) of Carlinville; son - Brian E. Bailey of Morgantown, West Virginia; grandson - Ethan Wesley Taylor (wife Rachel) of Carlinville; great-grandson - Samson Wesley Taylor; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest L, parents, daughter, Lynn E. Bailey, brother, Maurice Jacobs, and sister, Sara E. Ercole. Funeral Information
Friends may call Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 9:30 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 10:30 am at the Carlinville United Methodist Church. Rev. Bryce Hays will officiate. There will also be a Memorial Service and burial in Sewickley, Pennsylvania at a later date. Donations Information
