Obituary of Dorothy L. Jenkins

Dorothy L. Jenkins 81, of Girard passed away Wednesday evening, October 8, 2014, at Pleasant Hill Village in Girard, IL. Dorothy was born October 27, 1932, in Decatur, IL, a daughter of John Cleo and Josephine (Restare) West Scott. She married Don Hardin on June 20, 1948 and he passed away January of 1972. She later married Cliff Jenkins on Oct. 31, 1973 in Las Vegas, NV. Dorothy enjoyed being a mother, homemaker and a member of Nilwood Baptist Church in Nilwood, IL. In her leisure time, Dorothy enjoyed playing Bingo, crafting, painting, going to the boat, and playing cards. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Cliff Jenkins of Girard, IL, daughter, Donna (Don) Sanson of Carlinville, IL, son, Doug (Barb) Hardin of Girard, IL, step-daughter, Shelly (Mike) Talkington of Girard, IL, grandsons, David Sanson, Dan Sanson, granddaughters, Dawn Raftis, Lindsey Sloman, Abbey Hardin, step-granddaughter, Melissa Miller, step-grandson, Christopher Gunn. She was preceded in death by her parents & sister, Barbara Kelsey. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard with Marty Nagel officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until service time at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery. Donations Information The family suggests memorials be directed to the Girard Fire & Rescue Squad or Pleasant Hill Village Nursing Home in Girard.
