Obituary of Gloria J. Higgins

Gloria J. Harker Higgins 65, of Carlinville, passed away Monday morning, June 24, 2013 at her residence in Carlinville, IL. Gloria was born on April 13, 1948 to Joseph Frank and Margaret L. "Peggy" (Hendricks) Harker in Camdon, NJ. She graduate from Hadden Township High School in Westmont, NJ in 1966. Gloria received her education degree from William Jewel College in Liberty, MO and worked as a teachers aid for the Jacksonville School District, retiring in April 2013. Gloria was a very active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville and volunteered in the church nursery. Most of all, Gloria loved spending time with her family. Gloria is survived by her 3 daughters, Heather (John) Heater of Carlinville, IL, Amy (David) Pope of Jacksonville, FL and Angela (boyfriend, Reuben Altman) Higgins of Carlinville, IL; mother, Margaret "Peggy" Harker and a granddaughter, Jordyn Houseman of Carlinville, IL. Gloria was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Frank Harker. Funeral Information Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in, Carlinville, IL. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 11:00 am at Lankenau Funeral Home in Pemberton, NJ with visitation from 9:30 to the time of service. Burial will take place in the I.O.O.F.
