J. Frank Harker 92, of Carlinville, formerly of Westmont, New Jersey, died Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Carlinville Area Hospital. He was born Friday, August 10, 1917 in Pemberton, New Jersey, the Son of the late George Harker and the late Helen (Burtis) Harker. He married Margaret L. "Peggy" Hendricks in Pemberton, New Jersey on April 20, 1946. Frank was a Staff Sergeant in the US Army during World War ll. Harker attended Pemberton High School, Class of 1936. He was an Office Manager for Theodore E. Mozer, Inc. of Palmyra, New Jersey, retiring in 1985. He was a member of American Legion Post 100. He loved playing sports in his younger years, and then turned to watching them later in life. He was an avid Phillies fan.. Survivors: Wife, Margaret L. "Peggy" Harker of Carlinville, Illinois, Daughter, Gloria Jean Higgins of Carlinville, Illinois, Granddaughter, Heather Heater (John) of Carlinville, Illinois, Granddaughter, Amy Pope (David) of Pensacola, Florida, Granddaughter, Angela Higgins of Fernandino Beach, Florida, Great-Granddaughter, Jordyn Houseman of Carlinville, Illinois, Sister, Leona Scott of Pemberton, New Jersey, Sister, Ethel Haines (Sam) of Pemberton, New Jersey, Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, Carlton Harker, sisters, Mary Stokley and Edna Dries. Funeral Information Funeral services are pending at the Lankenau Funeral Home in Pemberton, New Jersey. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Pemberton, New Jersey. Donations Information Memorials may be made to the Grace Baptist Church in Westmont, New Jersey.
