Obituary of Della L. Guess

Della L. Guess 80, of Carlinville, formerly of Chesterfield passed away Saturday morning, March 26, 2011 at Heritage Manor in Carlinville. She was born Monday, October 13, 1930 in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Leo and Faye (Robinson) Frasier Stone. Della was raised by her mother and step-father Truman Stone after Leo passed away when Della was 6. Della married James J. Guess in Chesterfield, IL on August 9, 1952 and he passed away February 12, 1995. Della graduated from Alton High School. Della was a wonderful homemaker for her family in Chesterfield while working at the Carlinville Glove Factory as a seamstress. In her spare time she was a representative for the Avon and McNess companies. Della recently had worked part time for Illinois Valley in Carlinville. Della was a member of the both United Church in Chesterfield and Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville. In her leisure time you could find her sewing, gardening, crocheting or enjoying short day trips with her friends. Della enjoyed spending time with her church and Lotts Landing families. Her grand and great grandchildren put a twinkle in her eyes. Survivors: daughters, Kathy S. Dugger (Myron) and Karen L. Geninatti (Rick) both of Carlinville, grandsons, Chad Dugger (Sadie), Tyson Geninatti, Gary Dugger, Collin Geninatti, Great-granddaughter, Charlee Dugger and two nieces. She was preceded in death by parents, step-father, husband, and sister; Geraldine Miller. Funeral Information Friends may call from 9:00 to 11:00 Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Eastern Star Rities at 10:45 A.M. Burial will be in Chesterfield Cemetery in Chesterfield. Donations Information Memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
