Maxine Burkhalter Griffel
92, of Carlinville, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at her residence.
She was born Thursday, February 21, 1918 in Maquon, IL, the daughter of John and Pearl (Grice) Swigart.
Maxine was married to Dale Burkhalter, he passed away in 1976.
After Dales death, she married Gilbert Griffel in 1982. Gilbert passed away in 1995.
Maxine was a member of Canton Methodist Church. Maxine sold real estate and insurance in the Canton area for several years. She enjoyed traveling, flowers and volunteered at Carlinville Area Hospital.
Survivors: step-son, Edwin Griffel (JuDee) of Carlinville, step-son, William Griffel (Nancy) of Ft. Dodge, IA, step-son, Richard Griffel (Janet) of Carlinville, 7 step-grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren, special friends, Dave & Ardeth Jokisch of Carlinville, several cousins and other friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 4 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Maquon Cemetery, Maquon,IL next to her first husband Dale. Donations Information
