Lois Grichnik-Thompson
Lois Thompson, age 87 of Carlinville passed away Tuesday morning at Carlinville Area Hospital. She was born May 21, 1920 in Carlinville, IL, the daughter of the late Joseph G and Annie L (Corbin) G. Yahr. On December 15, 1938 she married Albert M. Grichnik in Carlinville, he passed away October 8, 1984. Two years later she married Myron Thompson on October 4, 1986. Lois retired in 1984 after 20 years of teaching at the Macoupin Center for the Developmentally Disabled. She was a member of the Carlinville United Methodist Church, American Legion Aux, H.C.E. and was a 4-H Leader. She loved to play cards, bowl and cook. She graduated from Chesterfield High School in 1938.
Lois is survived by: Husband, Myron; Daughters, Sheron Murray (Don) of Centralia, IL and Janet Griffel (Rich) of Carlinville, IL. Grandchildren are: Toni Stewart (Mark), of Carlinville, Dena Roller (Jr.) of Girard and Lonnie Gwillim of Carlinville. Also surviving are 3 foster grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren and 3 foster great grandchildren. Sister-in-law, Lois Yahr of Calfornia also survives. Funeral Information
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 1, 2008 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Carlinville United Methodist Church in Carlinville, IL. Buial in Loomis Cemetery near Chesterfield, IL. Donations Information
