Obituary of Evelyn M. Greaves

Evelyn M. Greaves Evelyn M. Greaves, 85, of Carlinville, died Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Friendship Home in Carlinville. She was born September 2, 1924 in Carlinville, the Daughter of the late Wendell Coffey and Lula Jane (Conlee) Coffey. She married Russell A. Greaves in Bowling Green, Missouri on September 24, 1941. She and Russell worked the family farm side by side throughout their aduldhood. She was a member of Charity Baptist Church in Carlinville. Evelyn loved quilting and crocheting, and has passed down many beautiful quilts and afghans. They wintered in Florida for over forty years. There they loved the lakes and fishing together. Survivors: Husband, Russell A. Greaves, Son, Robert Greaves (Barbara) of Carlinville, Granddaughter, Beth Harding (Steve) of Carlinville, Granddaughter, Robin Martin (Steve) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, 4 Great-Grandchildren, Blake and Collin Harding and Alyssa and Luke Martin. Several Nieces and Nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Glenn Coffey and Lewis Ray Coffey. Funeral Information Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 20 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Services: 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home. Revs. Randy Dempsay and Betty Coffey will officiate. Ruth Mayo will accompany Chad Ozee as he sings "I'll Fly Away" and "In The Garden". Burial: Charity Cemetery in Carlinville.
