Helen L. Freytag age 84 of Carlinville Illinois passed away, Monday, February 23, 2009 at Heritage Manor in Carlinville. Helen was born July 12, 1924 in Clay City, IL, daughter of the late Ellsworth and Mabel (McKinley) Eskew. Helen married Raymond Carl "Murphy" Freytag on May 11, 1940 in St. Charles, MO and died in 1991. Helen was a CNA at Carlinville Area Hospital and retired in 1989. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville. Helen loved to crochet, garden and bake. She is survived by, daughters Mary Mitchell (Eldon) of Carlinville, Carol Jean Rice (Bruce) of Carlinville, sons, Raymond Paul Freytag (Betty) of Wood River, Ronald Freytag (Pamela) Carlinville, and Danny Freytag (Pauline) of Benld, brother Gene Eskew (Minnie) of Hillsboro, sisters, Mildred Brown and Dorothy Kates of Carlinville, several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until the time of funeral on Wednesday. Burial will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery. Donations Information Memorials are made to the American Cancer Society.
