Gene Featherstone
77, of Raymond, passed away Tuesday morning, November 22, 2011 at Carlinville Area Hospital.
Gene was born on August 8, 1934 to Charles and Geraldine (Piper) Featherstone in Jacksonville, IL. He graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1952. Gene married Virginia Rose Chapin on July 14, 1957 in Carlinville and she passed away July 23, 2002.
Gene served in the United States Air Force for several years. He was Co-owner of H&H Construction Services in Carlinville and worked as a salesman for the company, retiring in 2000. Gene was a farmer at heart. He was also a member of Memorial Christian Church in Carlinville, as well as a past member of the Carlinville JC's. Gene loved sports, NASCAR and traveling.
Gene is survived by his son, Ken Featherstone, 2 daughters, Kathy Fischer (Jube) and Kristie Mitchell (Philip) all of Carlinville; 4 grandchildren a great grandson; 2 brothers, Richard Featherstone of Sunset Lake, AZ and Jerry Featherstone of Wilsonville, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Gene is preceded in death by parents, wife and brother, Don Featherstone.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, IL. Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, with Rev. Martin Miller officiating.
