Maxine Mae Evans
80, of Carlinville passed away, Saturday, December 17, 2011, at Carlinville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Carlinville.
Maxine was born March 18, 1931 in Filmore, Illinois, a daughter of Bruce and Anne (Rascher) Toberman. She married Robert M. Evans on November 11, 1951 in Hillsboro, IL.
During her lifetime as a homemaker Mrs. Evans volunteered her time as a member of the Tom Thumb Park Mothers Club, aCub Scout leader and room mother for many of her children's elementary classrooms.
Mrs. Evans was a children's librarian for nineteen years (1979-1999) at the Carlinville Public Library. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church where she taught various Sunday School, Bible School and confirmation classes. In addition Maxine was a member of the church choir for many years.
Surviving are her husband, Robert M. Evans; daughter; Sue (Jack) Elk of Bartlett; sons, Ken Evans and Dave (Susan) Evans both of Carlinville; four grandchildren; Hannah, Joe, Reid and Sophie Evans, sister; Shirley Eaton of League City, TX and a niece. Funeral Information
Visitation will be Monday, December 19, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Zion Lutheran Church, 501 S. Broad St. Carlinville, with Rev. Peter Kirby officiating.
Burial will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery. Donations Information
