Obituary of Wilma Elizabeth Emmons

Wilma Elizabeth Emmons 83, of Carlinville, passed away Sunday morning, January 27, 2013 at Carlinville Area Hospital. Wilma was born on June 21, 1929 to George and Eldo (Gregory) Stevens at her parents home in East Alton, IL. She graduated from Chesterfield High School in 1947 and from beauty school in 1948. Wilma married Norman Lee Emmons on May 21, 1948 at her parents house in Chesterfield, IL. Wilma was a loving mother and wife. She was self employed as a beautician for 35 years, working out of her home in Carlinville. Wilma was also a homemaker, member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and loved to fish and travel with her husband. Wilma is survived by her husband Norman; son, Roy Lee Emmons (Joyce) of Carlinville; daughter, JoAnn Cole (Kenneth) of Galena, MO; son, Steven Emmons of Springfield, IL; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George M. and Eldo N. Stevens; sister, Juanita Hart and a brother, George M. "Sonny" Stevens.
