Obituary of Cleora J. Eller

Cleora J. Eller Cleora J. Eller, 86, of Carlinville, IL, passed away Friday night, April 25, 2014 at St. John's Hospice in Springfield. She was born December 1, 1927 to Hezzkiah and Leona (Smith) Pipkin in Pioneer, LA. She wed Russell Eller on Nov. 13, 1942 in Detroit, MI, and they enjoyed more than 63 years together before his death in 2006. Cleora was an LPN at the Carlinville Area Hospital and local nursing homes. After retirement, she did private duty nursing. She was a member of Carlinville's First Church of the Nazarene and assisted with many activities there. She was never too busy to lend a hand. She enjoyed working outdoors, "computering," travel, square dancing, and most of all, special gatherings with her family, who will miss her dearly. Survivors include children, Julia Meade of Chatham and Dennis (Sue) Eller of Ava, Missouri: 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Charlet Antonacci and Helen (Jack) Shepherd; brother, Hezzie "Junior" Pipkin; and many nieces and nephews. Cleora was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, and 1 sister. Funeral Information Visitation will be Friday, May 2nd, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, with a memorial service at the funeral home on Saturday, May 3, at 10:30 a.m., the Rev. Don Harrison officiating. Donations Information Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or a charity of the donor's choice.
