Obituary of Judy Edwards

Faye "Judy" Edwards 86, of Girard, passed away on Tuesday evening, March 13, 2012 at Pleasant Hill Village in Girard, IL. Judy was born on February 8, 1926 to George and Minnie (Shores) Crawford in Nilwood, IL. She graduated from Girard High School, class of 1943. Judy married Charles Edwards Jr. on November 5, 1948 in Nilwood. Charles preceded her in death on November 27, 2001 Judy worked for the State of Illinois for 25 years in Central Management as an administrative assistant, retiring in 1984. She was then the Girard City Clerk from 1985 to 2001. Judy enjoyed craft work, University of Illiniois games and was a member of the Alumni Association as a charter member, as well as in the Die Hard Cub Fan Club and the AFSCME retiree group union. Judy was also an Active working member of the Democratic Community and attended Girard Christian Church. Judy is survived by 2 sons, Jerry Charles Edwards (Glenda) of Virden, IL, Mark W. Edwards (Cindy) of Girard; granddaughter, Nicole Lynn Edwards; 2 grandsons, Taylor James Edwards and Charles Brady Edwards; a great granddaughter Mikayla Barnes; 2 sisters, Mildred Hall of Tallahassee, FL and Mary England (Bob) of Indianapolis, IN, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles and her parents, Gerorge Elmer and Minnie Louise (Shores) Crawford. Funeral Information Visitation will be held on Friday, March16, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Richard Whitworth officiating. Burial will take place in the Girard Cemetery.
