Clarence "Keck" Dufner 83, of Carlinville, passed away Friday evening, August 3, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. Keck was born on June 17, 1929 to Leo F. and Albertha M. (Leefers) Dufner in Carlinville. He was a 1946 graduate of Carlinville High School, as well as a graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia. Keck served in the U.S. Army Medical Corp in the Occupation Forces of Korea. Keck married Carolyn "Tootie" Blanchard in 1950 and they later divorced. He then married Marcy Rector in 1955 and she survives. Keck entered the postal service in 1959. He worked for the Railway Mail Service for several years and later transferred to the Carlinville Post Office in 1966 as a mail carrier and window clerk, retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Among other achievements, Keck was a 58 year Honorary Life Member of the B.P.O.Elks lodge #1412, former "Elk of the Year" and past president of the Elks National Bowling Association. He was also a life member and past Post Commander of V.F.W Post #544, as well as a life member of the American Philatelic Society. Keck was an avid Cardinals fan, holding season tickets. He loved to bowl, golf and spend time with his family. Keck is survived by his wife, Marcy; 2 sons, Charles "Bud" Dufner (Jill) of Collinsville, IL and Patrick Dufner of Carlinville; daughter, Cheryl "Cissy" (Vic) Rosenterter of Robards, KY; 10 Grandchildren - Kelly (Mike) Sebastian, Tanya (Kirk) Ryan, Amber (Matt) Yeary, Shane Rosentreter, Bannon Rausch, Ferris Al-Qaisi, Tamra Harkey (Rick), Matthew Dufner, Nicholas Dufner, Kathlyn Dufner; 9 great-grandchildren, Caleb Yeary, Hannah Yeary, Leah Yeary, Sarah Yearly Madison Ryan, Jordan Ryan, Jaxon Ryan, Ethan Sebastian, Bayla Rausch; sister, Mary Lou Huff of San Bernardino, CA and several nieces and nephews. Keck was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Dufner and a brother, Danny Joe Dufner. Funeral Information Visitation will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Strope officiating. Burial will take place in Moore Cemetery, Carlinville. Donations Information Memorials are suggested to the Carlinville Food Pantry or the Elk's Crippled Children's Fund.
