Obituary of Jacob Donald Daugherty

Jacob Donald Daugherty Jacob Donald "Don" Daugherty, age 75, of Carlinville, IL died Tuesday afternoon at Carlinville Area Hospital. He was born January 14, 1933 in Palmer, IL son of the late Jacob Clarence and Lena Leola (Boyce) Daugherty. Don married Dorothy M. Bristow March 27, 1954 at the New Hope Church in rural Girard. He was in agricultural sales for 20 years and retired in 1994. He had worked for Standard Oil and owned Daugherty Ag Supply in Carlinville for several years. While retired he co-owned Carts to Go with his son for over 10 years. Don was a member of the Carlinville Moose Club #1216 and had held every office except Trustee and was a graduate of Carlinville High School class of 1950.Surviving family members are wife: Dorothy of Carlinville, Daughter, Denise Childress husband Richard of Beecher City, IL. 4 Sons, David Daugherty Sr. and wife Fran of Carlinville, Darrin Daugherty wife Barb of Raymond, IL, Doug Daugherty wife Melinda of Bunker Hill, IL and Duane Daugherty wife Cheryl of Girard, IL., 15 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville Friday, June 6, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
