Rev. Douglas R. Clair 70, of Carlinville, IL went to be with his Lord Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. He was born Tuesday, April 25, 1939 in Wyandotte, Michigan, the son of the late David and Nellie (Shaw) Clair. He married Norma Jean Tompkins in the Assembly of God Church in Rock Falls, IL on February 14, 1959. Rev. Clair graduated from the North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, MN. He and his wife Jean pastored for over 50 years. They served churches in Sebawaing, Union City, Lincoln Park, Walled Lake, and Albion MI. They were Missionaries for four years in Seoul Korea. Pastor Clair retired in 1999 from the First Assembly of God Church in Carlinville, IL. He continued to serve as interim pastor for several area churches. Survivors: Wife Jean of Carlinville, IL, Son, Mark Douglas Clair (Lisa) of Toldeo, OH, Daughter, Marilyn Paur (Mark) of Staunton, IL, Daughter, Michelle Gillespie (Kelly) of Lake Jackson, TX, Grandchildren, Brett Douglas, Ryan & Caitlyn Clair, , Lindsay Paur, and Taylor & Grayson Gillespie, Sister, Lois Parmenter of Denver , CO. and Sister-In-Law Joyce Clair of Allen Park, MI. He was preceded in death by brother, Donald Clair. Funeral Information Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Sunday, May 10 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Homes, in Carlinville. Service: 11:00 AM, Monday, May 11, 2009 at the First Assembly of God Church in Carlinville. Burial will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Carlinville. Donations Information Memorials may be made to the Cornerstone Church of Bethalto-Benevolence Fund.
