Obituary of Joan D. Carmody

Joan D. Carmody 75, of Carlinville, IL, passed away Tuesday morning, April 27, 2010 at Carlinville Area Hospital. She was born Monday, November 12, 1934 in St. Louis, MO, the Daughter of Robert and Norma (Scherder) Daily. She married Thomas P. Carmody in St. Louis, MO on May 6, 1961. Joan graduated from Bayless High School in St. Louis, MO, St. John's Mercy School of Nursing, and Blackburn College. Joan was a nurse, homemaker, wife and mother and grandmother. She was a member of Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church and the Ladies Bridge Club. Survivors: husband, Thomas P. Carmody, son, Stephen R. Carmody (Tracy) of Canton, GA., daughter, Dr. Susan Joan Carmody (Tim Taylor) of Bloomington, IL, grandchildren, Clare and Patrick Carmody, Ryan and Adare Carmody, Grace and Catherine Joan Taylor, sisters Patricia Grimes & Carmen Dvorak , brother, Dave Daily (Barbara) all of St. Louis, MO. and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Information Family and friends may call from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, April 30 at Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church at 2010 E. First South in Carlinville, IL. A prayer service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Ss Mary and Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Donovan officiating and Marion Haas accompanying the church choirs. Burial will be in New Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers serving the family include: Pat Ryan, Tim Ryan, Mike Herendeen, Scott Rhoads, and Lou Herrera.
