Mike S. Chasco , 60 of Palmyra, passed away Sunday morning, February 14, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. Mike was born August 29, 1955, in Carlsbad, NM, the only son of Edward and Norma (Claybourn) Chasco. Mike graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1973. While in high school, Mike was a driving force with the Cavalier football team. Soon after graduation, he married the love of his life, Maxine Ludwig July 27, 1973, in St. Charles, MO and they raised two children. Mike started with Monterey Coal Company, Carlinville in 1973 and retired in 2006 with 33 years of underground mining. He enjoyed cars and riding motorcycles. His real love was spending time and teaching his grandchildren about life. Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine in 2014, father, Edward Chasco, Jr., sister, Susan Chasco, and grandson, Remington Eades. The family will greet friends on Thursday evening, February 18, 2016, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, IL. The family will hold their own private service at a later date. Mike is survived by his mother, Norma Chasco of Palmyra, IL, daughter, Michelle (Chris) Eades of Modesto, IL, son, Lee (Megan) Chasco of Chula Vista, CA and three grandchildren.
