Obituary of Donald W. Thomas

Donnie Thomas 75 of Carlinville, passed away Saturday morning, July 11, 2015, at Carlinville Area Hospital. Donnie was born November 5, 1939, in Litchfield, IL, a son of William J and Verla Blanche (Spencer) Thomas. Donnie farmed North East of Carlinville his lifetime. He worked at Schien Body & Equipment in Carlinville as a truck driver, Heyen Equipment and Konneker & Brown as a salesman. He enjoyed mostly farming and being a long distance self-employed truck driver. Donnie was a lifetime member of Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church and 50 year member of the Carlinville Elk's Lodge #1412. He also served as a Macoupin County Property Assessor for several years. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Thomas is survived by his step-sons, Harold Wissell of LasVegas, NV, and Patrick Wissell of Madison, WI.
