Harlan T. Rhodus 85 of Carlinville, passed away on September 12, 2014 at Friendship Home in Carlinville. He was born on August 18, 1929 to Eugene and Dulcie (Casey) Rhodus in Richmond, Kentucky. Harlan served his country in the U.S Air Force during the Korean War. On November 16, 1973 he married Sally Miller in Calumet City, Illinois. Harlan was a shop foreman for Rockwell Engineering in Blue Island, Illinois, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Cross Church in Carlinville and a member of American Legion Guy Baird Post #554 in Carlinville as well. Harlan is survived by his wife Sally; two sons, Eugene Rhodus (wife Suzie) of Portage,IN and Charles Rhodus (wife Tammy) of Hammond,IN; step-daughter, Mary Katan of Marietta, GA; three step-sons, James Eaves (wife Sherrie) of Hammond, IN, Larry Stoltie of Kokomo, IN and James Stoltie (wife Hope) of Greenville, SC; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three brothers, Hugh Rhodus (wife Mary) of Middle Island, NY, Donald Rhodus (wife Della) of Richmond, KY and Ronald Rhodus (wife Virginia) of Carlinville, IL; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Dulcie Rhodus and 2 sisters, Lucille Rhodus and Daretta Moberly. Funeral Information Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at 10:30 am at the Cross Church, Carlinville, with Rev. Tim Rhodus, officiating. Burial will take place in the Moore Cemetery, rural Carlinville. Donations Information Memorials are suggested to the Cross Church - Building Fund.
