Obituary of George B. Adams

George B. Adams 82 of Girard passed away Thursday morning, September 25, 2014, at his residence. George was born July 7, 1932, in Girard, IL, a son of George M. and Ruth (Quick) Adams. George married Arletta J. Hinckle, January 1956, in Girard, IL where they resided their lifetime. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Arletta in October 2013, and 2 brothers. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. George worked for 40 years at Pillsbury Mills in Springfield and retired in 1991. George enjoyed his grandchildren, woodworking and yard work. Surviving are his daughters, Donna (Dannie) Reels and Julie (Brad) VanHuss both of Girard, IL; 3 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Nagel of Girard, IL; brother, Rev. Roy (Phyllis) Adams of Littleton, CO and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon, September 28, 2014, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard. Funeral Services will take place at 10:00 am, Monday,September 29, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Girard Cemetery.
