Terry James "T.J." Johnson, 56, of Carlinville, IL, passed away on Thursday evening, April 16, 2026, at his home in Carlinville, IL.

T.J. was born June 8, 1969, in Rock Island, IL, a son of Carroll Johnson and Glenda (Fisk) Johnson. He graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1987, later he attended Rankin Technical College.

He worked for BNSF railroad for several years, but spent the majority of his career driving Redi-mix trucks for several area companies. T.J. was a member of Carlinville Elks Lodge #1412 and held several chair positions within the organization. T.J. was a huge Buffalo Bills football fan and enjoyed helping with charity events, especially the Elks Children's Golf Event. He enjoyed spending time in Florida watching sunsets, but is most well known for being a great friend who never met a stranger.

T.J. was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Carlinville Elks Lodge #1412, 201 W. Main St. Carlinville, IL 62626.

Terry is survived by his sister, Denni (Jack) Wofford of Carlinville, IL, nephew, Brandon (Peggy) Chasteen, and great nephew, Reegan Chasteen.
