William "Bill" Alan Nance, 72 of Girard, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2026, at his home in Girard, IL.

Bill was born October 23, 1953, in Carlinville, IL, a son of Raymond E. and Vivian Nance. He attended Girard High School. HE was a member of the US Army.

Bill worked for 26 years at Humphrey's Meat Market in Springfield, IL, where he loved his work. He enjoyed his cats and seeing his family. He was known as a hard worker.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Curby, Raymond, Stanley, and Terry Nance.

There will be a memorial service at a later date.

Bill is survived by his son, Mark (Marlina) Crawford of Nilwood, IL, grandchildren, Austin Cutbirth, Cody Cutbirth, Allyn Burtle, brother, Danny (Angie) Nance of Girard, IL, John (Nina) Nance of Springfield, IL, sister, Lela Eller of Girard, IL, sister, Vicky Nichols (companion Mike) of Girard, IL, and sister, Patty Orr of Virden, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
