Russell Lee Naugle, 86, of Carlinville, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 14, 2026 at his residence in Carlinville, IL.

Russell was born on December 18, 1939 to Vernon E. and Lois (Shade) Naugle in Rockbridge, IL. On November 11, 1961 he married Zelma Goodman in Rockbridge, IL. To this union they had four children. She preceded him in death on October 23, 2016.

Shortly after graduating from Greenfield High School in 1957, Russell began his career with Prairie Farms Dairy in Carlinville. He held a variety of positions with the dairy, spanning a 30 year time period. Following his retirement in 1994, Russ decided to keep occupied working at Rural King. This kept him busy for another 20 plus years, retiring in 2021.

Russ was a member of Teamsters Local 525. He served as an alderman for the City of Carlinville. His interests included gardening, rabbit hunting, playing euchre, and cheering on the StL Cardinals. He also liked taking road trips with his wife, Zelma, riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle. Family was important to Russ and Zelma. Their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the highlights of their lives.

Russell is survived by two sons, Kevin L. (Laura) Naugle of Carlinville, IL, and Brian E. (Leslie) Naugle of Carlinville, IL; two daughters, Jacque K. (Dave) Griffith of Carlinville, IL, and Janine M. (Larry) Gross of Carlinville, IL; Ten grandchildren, Keshia (Andy) Cook, Kayla (Kevin) Ashby, Eric Naugle-Gross, Alissa (Sean) Hicks, Haley (Nate) Naugle, Meghan (Chris) Naugle, Justin (Kenzie) Naugle, Hannah (Jake) Naugle, Aiden Naugle, Camden (Addison) Naugle; Eleven great-grandchildren, Everlee, Walker, Jet, Emmett, Halle, Parker, Ryne, Theo, Riley, Stevie, Sutton; brother, Vernon "Butch" S. (Ruth) Naugle of Medora, IL; sister, Karen (Randy) Kinser of Greenfield, IL; several nieces and nephews.

Russell was preceded in death by parents, Vernon E. and Lois Eileen Naugle, wife, Zelma K. Naugle sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Ronnie Whitlock.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, IL.

A Celebration of Life will follow visitation at noon at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, IL, with Rev. Cliff Woodman, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Carlinville.

Memorials are suggested to either the Macoupin Center for the Developmentally Disabled or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
