Emery "Myron" Glenn Obituary
Emery "Myron" Glenn, 90 of Carlinville, passed away Thursday morning, March 5, 2026, at Hallmark Healthcare in Carlinville, IL.
He was born October 18, 1935, in Webb, IA, a son of Andrew Emery Glenn and Clara N. (Brown) Glenn. He graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1953. He married Nancy Groves on December 10, 1955 at the Rural Methodist Church and they celebrated 70 years of marriage last year.
In his younger years, Myron ran a milk route, but most of his life was spent as a farmer in Macoupin County using IH and Farmall equipment. He was a member of the Carlinville United Methodist Church, Carlinville Jaycees, Carlinville Elks Lodge for over 50 years, and Macoupin County Farm Bureau. He was awarded Outstanding Young Farmer from the Jaycees in 1969. He enjoyed Elks bowling league, went on several bowling trips, antique tractor shows & antique tractors, traveling with family and wintering in Texas with Nancy and friends, but most of all, his pride and joy were his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who nicknamed him Ho-Ho. He will be remembered as a kind man who always had a smile on his face.
Myron was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Ilene Winters, brother, Gordon (Flora) Glenn, sister, Mildred (Marshall) Tipton, sister, Gail (Francis) Darr, brother, Jack Glenn, brother, Roger Glenn, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Abner.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, 260 Woodlawn Dr., Carlinville, IL.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 am, Friday, March 13, 2026 at Carlinville United Methodist Church, Carlinville, IL with Rev. Braden Parks officiating.
Burial will follow in Moore Cemetery, Carlinville, IL.
Myron is survived by his wife, Nancy Glenn of Carlinville, IL, daughters, Julie (Gary) Brown of Carlinville, IL and Myra Glenn of Virden, IL, and a special niece Brenda (Larry) Beanblossom, grandsons, Justin (Brittany) Brown of Carlinville, IL, Nicholas Brown of Kissimmee, FL, and Ethan (Jenny) Brown of Maui, HI, granddaughter, Natalie Brown of Virden, IL, great grandchildren, Paeton, Keagan, Alexis, Logan, Lydia, Aurora, and Ekana, sister, Jean Abner of Godfrey, IL, sister-in-law, Shirley Glenn, sister-in-law, Lucille Glenn, several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Carlinville United Methodist Church or American Alzheimer's Association.
