John R. Kincaid, 62, of Carlinville, IL, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 9, 2025, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

John was born December 30, 1962, in Carlinville, IL, a son of Robert V. and Coletta M. (Wiser) Kincaid. John graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1980. He married Vickie Burrell, on March 9, 1996, in Jerseyville, IL. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville, IL.

John retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections as a lieutenant after 30 years. He was an avid raccoon hunter even winning ACHA World Bench Show and numerous state awards. He placed in the top 20 in the ACHA World Hunt. He was a member of Jacksonville Masonic Lodge and the Macoupin County Coon Hunters Association.

John was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Bobetta Obenchain, and Katrina Cunningham.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, IL.

Burial will follow in Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Carlinville.

John is survived by his wife, Vickie Kincaid of Carlinville, IL, son, Robert K. Kincaid of Nashville, TN, son, William B. Kincaid of Carlinville, IL, son, Sgt. Keagan G. Broaddus of Ludowici, GA, and sister, Marita F. Karrick of Carlinville, IL.

Memorials may be made to Shriner's Children Hospital.
