Marjorie L. Haley Obituary

Marjorie L. Haley, 98, of Shipman, IL, passed away on Tuesday morning, October 14, 2025, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL.


Marjorie was born December 31, 1926, in Mt. Vernon, IL, a daughter of Morris and Ida (Soper) Porter. Marjorie graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. She married Paul E. Haley on September 18, 1948, in Mt. Vernon, IL.


Marjorie was a loving mother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and cultivating her flowers. Marjorie was a religious woman who was a member of the United Methodist Church in Shipman, IL.


Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter in law, Rebecca, and brother, Robert Porter.


Private graveside services will be held.


Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery, in Mt. Vernon, IL.


Marjorie is survived by her son, David Haley of Shipman, IL, daughter, Sue (Dwight) Walden of Girard, IL, daughter, Marie (Jerry) Walden of Girard, IL, son, Mark (Deanna) Haley of Plainview, IL, six grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
