Stanley Glenn Swires, 73, of Standard City, IL, passed away Sunday morning, August 17, 2025 at Hallmark Healthcare in Carlinville, Il.

Stanley was born July 19, 1952, in Carlinville, IL, a son of Glenn D. and Bernice (Haynes) Swires.

Stanley graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1970.

Stanley worked in the custodial department for the Carlinville School District for 36 years, from 1974 to 2009. He was a hard worker and had a special talent in electrical work. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading consumer reports about cars and their different performances. He also enjoyed watching Television and YouTube videos.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Romona Pegel.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, IL.

Stanley is survived by his brother, Curtis Swires of Carlinville, IL, nephew, Jeremy Swires of MS, niece, Katie Santillo of Carlinville, IL, brother-in-law, Robert Pegel and best friend, James Bennett of Carlinville, IL.
