Arthur William Gunning, 67 of Carlinville, Illinois passed away Sunday, August 3, 2025, at his residence.

Art was born April 13, 1958, in Carlinville, Illinois to Thelma (Scott) Gunning.

Art graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1976.

He retired in 2022 from Carlinville Area Hospital Housekeeping Department where he had worked for over 10 years. He was named Employee of the Year. He had been employed at Hope House in Carlinville, Il as a night counselor and as a janitor for MCDD in years past. He had a quiet demeanour, but was always ready to lend a hand. Art enjoyed reading, visiting with family, and watching TV. He will be miss greatly.

Art was preceded in death by his mother, brothers; Sam and Charles Gunning, sisters; Mary Dennis, Julia Frederichs, and Betty Branson.

Services will be held at a later time.

Art is survived by his sisters, Rita Manning and Josie (Ron) Talkington both of Carlinville, IL. and several nieces and nephews.
