Marilyn J. Talkington, 88 of Girard, IL, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Hallmark Health Care in Carlinville, IL.

Marilyn was born April 16, 1937, in Troy Grove, IL, a daughter of James and Lee (Withrow) Farmer. Marilyn graduated from Providence Catholic High School, Joliet, IL with the class of 1955. She married Bud Talkington on November 24, 1956, in Joliet, IL.

Marilyn worked at Dickey-John in Auburn in production for many years before retiring. She had also worked at Courtyard Estates in Girard in housekeeping. She was a member of New Life Church in Auburn. She loved reading the bible. She loved to shop, loved animals, and especially loved children.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bud Talkington, daughter Donna Elaine Talkington, and brothers, James and Jack Farmer.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, 9:00 am - 11:00 am at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, 226 N. 3rd St., Girard, IL.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Monday, August 4, 2025, at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL.

Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Girard, IL.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Michael (Shelly) Talkington of Girard, IL, granddaughter, Melissa (Jeremy) Miller of Girard, IL, sister, Karen Nelms of Gulf Port, MS, and

several nieces and nephews.
