M. Arlene Harris, 84 of Carlinville, IL, formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Carlinville Area Hospital in Carlinville, IL.

Arlene was born February 21, 1941, in Tower Hill, IL, a daughter of Woodrow Emmit and Muriel Irene Culumber. Mearl graduated from Pana High School with the class of 1959. She went to college at Richland Community College in Decatur and received a degree in respiratory therapy. She married Richard L. Harris on July 6, 1958, in Pana, IL. Arlene worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur, IL as a respiratory therapist.

She was a member of Charity Baptist Church and was very active in the church, especially with family foreign missionary and domestic. Arlene always hosted "Thanksmas" dinner the weekend after Thanksgiving. Sharing her time with her family and grandchildren very important to her.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, her older sister Carolyn Smith, her twin sister, Pearl Lorene Cearlock, and great granddaughter, Anna Schmidt.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, 11 am - 12 pm at Charity Baptist Church, Carlinville, IL.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 pm, Friday, August 1, 2025 at Charity Baptist Church, Carlinville, IL, with Reverend John Truax officiating.

Burial will take place at a later date at Charity Baptist Cemetery.

M. Arlene is survived by her husband, Richard L. Harris of Carlinville, IL, son, Tony L. (Rose) Harris, of Palmyra, IL, son, Monti S. (Rhonda) Harris, of Avon, IN, daughter, Tanya (Doug) Deal of Springfield, IL, son, Phillip C. (Sandy) Harris of Moro, IL, son, Bart W. (Jennifer) Harris of Decatur, IL, 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and two on the way, several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Charity Baptist Church.
