Maxine Margaret Bloome, 95, of Sunset Lake, Girard, IL, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Pawnee, IL, on Saturday, March 29, 2025. She was lovingly cared for by her daughters Mary Beth, Lorna and granddaughter, Kayla (Tim) Cundiff. Maxine was born on April 11, 1929, in Carlinville, Illinois, to Pearl and Anna Rose (Kahl) Allen. She graduated from Carlinville High School. She married Loren Bloome in 1950. They moved to Kankakee, Illinois, before moving to Auburn, Illinois. After retirement, they moved to Sunset Lake in Girard, Illinois, where they enjoyed the lake life and hosted many family gatherings and fish fries and the famous Fourth of July Bloome Fest. She enjoyed being a homemaker when her family was young. She was an active volunteer and accomplished seamstress. She then went on to work for the State of Illinois. She worked for the Department of Revenue as a Tax Analyst. Maxine was a highly energetic person who was capable of extraordinary productivity. She was happiest when she was actively caring for others, especially her family by cooking, decorating, and shopping. She especially liked to shop with her twin sister, Patty, who also lived at Sunset Lake. The two shared a special bond. Maxine's secret to longevity was enjoying a bowl of Cheetos and drinking Busch out of a crystal glass. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Loren Bloome, sons; Mike Bloome and Mark Bloome, twin sister, Patty Tretter, and nine other siblings. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Ss Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, 2010 East 1st South, Carlinville, IL from 9:00 to 11:00 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. The Reverend Joe Koyickal, SAC, will preside. Burial will follow in Moore Cemetery, 15975 Moore Cemetery Rd, Carlinville, IL. Maxine is survived by her daughters, Lorna (Craig) Scoggins, daughter, Mary Beth Brandon, eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Janet Bloome, and several nieces and nephews.
