Obituary of Elaine Lucille Brockmeier

Elaine Lucille Brockmeier, 84 of Carlinville, IL passed away Thursday morning, February 27, 2025, at Litchfield Health Care and Rehab, in Litchfield, IL. Elaine was born August 20, 1940, in Carlinville , IL, a daughter of Everett and Velma Crays Fones. Elaine graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1958. She married Robert Carl Brockmeier November 16, 1958 in Carlinville, Il. Elaine and Carl were owners of Carl's IGA from 1970 to 1995 which proudly offered one of the best meat departments in the area. She served as alderwoman for the of City of Carlinville in wards 2 and 3, life long member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and Carlinville County Club. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carl Brockmeier, father, Everett Fones, mother, Velma Fones, sister, Joyce Ann Spann. Visitation will be held on Monday, March, 3, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00pm, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 10:30am at the church with Rev. Ed Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Carlinville. Elaine is survived by her son, Robert (Becky) Brockmeier of Carlinville, IL, daughter, Beth Ann Brockmeier of Carlinville, IL, daughter, Carla (Dan Fleming) Brockmeier of Carlinville, IL, son, William Brockmeier of St. Louis, MO, grandchildren: Nathan (Megan) Brockmeier, Jamie (Sam) Schnieders, Erin (Brandon) Emmons, Jack (Jensie Stults) Boehm, six great-grandchildren, brother, Jerry (Butch) Fones.
