Bennett Matthew Spangler, age 2, of Hettick, IL passed away during surgery Saturday, February 22, 2025, at St. Louis Children's Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Bennett was born November 14, 2022, in St. Louis, MO, a son of Caleb and McKenzie (Vance) Spangler.
Bennett was a beacon of light in our lives. He resembled strength, hope, and happiness. Bennett never experienced any "normalcy," as we all know from following his journey. His million dollar smile wasn't one that could be faked. Bennett knew endless love from his family, Bennett had hope, Bennett loved life. We may never understand God's plan, but we pray our family finds peace. Bennett traded his broken heart for a set of angel wings...our baby, our hero, a true inspiration. Bennett Matthew Spangler, fly high sweet boy. You will live forever in our hearts.
Bennett was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Russell and Wilma Rhodes, Norman Vance, Terry and Judy Spangler, Dale and Nancy Tosh and honorary Uncle Danny Nafziger.
Time of Remembrance will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Cross Church, Carlinville, IL.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 pm, Friday, February 28, 2025, at Cross Church, Carlinville.
Bennett is survived by his parents, Caleb and McKenzie Spangler and brothers Dax and Camden Spangler of Hettick, IL, grandparents, Brad and Wendy Vance of Virden, IL, Pam (Randy Titsworth) Rhodes of Divernon, IL, Britt and Kimberly Spangler of Chicago, IL, honorary grandparents, Kevin and Gayle Nafziger of Carlinville, IL, great-grandparents, Janie Vance of Palmyra, IL, and Ron and Bev Mason of Springfield, IL.
